A Theory of Entanglement 2009 Commissioned by FACT in Liverpool, UK and v2 Institute for unstable Media in Rotterdam, NL Made of Pine, maple, rubber rope, black poly cord and music wire. It measured 32' (h) x 40' x 60' at FACT . Participants cooperated to knit a tube of fabric that gradually descended to the floor over the course of the show. In addition to referencing Quantum Mechanics the piece also comments on Capitalism. Only the right combination of actions by participants pedalling bikes (Labor) and sitting on a couch in the Cafe (Capital) will produce the knitting (Craft). Images by the artist unless noted.
